PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Gearbox Design | Team of 6 | October 2025 – current| Design a front gearbox with 35% reduction in weight compared to previous designs while keeping costs as low as possible.

▪        Developed CAD models using SOLIDWORKS to reduce iteration time and optimize weight reduction.

▪        Minimized costs by reducing component variety, using industry-standard parts.

▪        Analyzed gear safety using static & dynamic calculations to ensure the gears would hold up at full speed while being as small and compact as possible.

▪        Manufactured using CNC, Lathe, and mill to create a low-cost prototype with minimal manufacturing time.

Rescue Robot Design | Team of 8 | August 2023 – July 2025 | Design a low-cost, repairable rescue robot to help in disaster situations.

▪        Created a modular design to reduce the cost of parts, assembly time, and improve repairability.

▪        Manufactured the CAD model in-house using MDF to reduce the cost of a prototype.

▪        Developed CAD models using SOLIDWORKS to reduce the cost of the robot and reduce iteration time.

Remote Control Vehicle Design | Team of 2 | Jan 2023 –June 2023 | Build a 20MPH remote-controlled Roomba while minimizing cost.

▪        Created CAD models using SOLIDWORKS to reduce manufacturing costs.

▪        Used industry-standard components to reduce parts cost.

▪        Tested using a 20-meter sprint to ensure we met project criteria (21 MPH).
